Maren Heidemann
Maren Heidemann is based in London and is a founding member of the St Clements Wind Ensemble. She specialises in solo recitals and ensemble management and also offers to play piccolo, alto and bass flute for specialised orchestral parts.
Maren's solo repertory includes all major flute literature, particularly French flute music of the past century as well as music for flute and voice.
Maren Heidemann graduated from the Conservatoire of Cologne in Germany in 1985 where she studied with Caecilie Lamerichs.
Based in Freiburg, she continued her musical training mainly with Prof. Felix Renggli in Basle, Switzerland, until 1994. She attended masterclasses with Felix Renggli in Geneva and with Michael Faust in Italy.
Maren was a winner of regional and federal youth competitions in Germany and has performed solo concertos with various chamber ensembles in Freiburg and elsewhere in Germany, including tours to Britain 1985 and 1986.
Maren moved to Britain in 1994 for research work at the University of Nottingham and the British Institute of International and Comparative Law in London.
In Britain, Maren has played principal flute for a number of student and other orchestras and appeared as soloist in Nottingham with the flute concerto by Jacques Ibert as well as in several wind chamber music and solo recitals with pianists Martin Leigh and Antony Clare.
